2011-2026: da quindici anni in Italia sono in vigore le quote di genere. Voglio celebrare questi quindici anni partendo non dai risultati di questo periodo. Ma<strong> ponendo alcune domande</strong>. Quelle che mi sono posta io. E quelle che mi sono sentita rivolgere, spesso con insistenza, da molte e molti incontrati lungo questo percorso.

Domande dirette, a volte scomode. Ma necessarie. Perché è attraverso i dubbi, le incertezze o gli interrogativi aperti che possiamo capire cosa ha funzionato. Cosa meno. E, soprattutto, perché oggi – proprio oggi – non possiamo permetterci di arretrare.

In three months, the Mongolian Parliament will almost double the number of its members - from 76 to 126. Following the new law, 48 of the total will be elected through a closed proportional list, composed, another first, by <strong>alternating female and male candidates</strong>. In this way, women will hold at least an equal percentage of this quota. «Something unforeseen before», confirms Bulgantuya Khurelbaatar, the Mongolian Minister for Labour and Social Protection. Trends wordlwide prove that greater diversity in the workplace, from junior employees to c-suits, results in better financial results. This summer, the behavioural science consultancy MindGym put down some numbers to highlight the benefits. The paper argues that businesses with higher levels of diversity outperform and are more innovative. “<em>Companies in the top quartile for gender diversity are 21% more likely to deliver above-average profits than those in the bottom quartile. In 2022 gender equality progresses at a snail's pace. Worsened even by complex crises that have become the norm. And, as numbers show, the decrease in growth and advancement is spread throughout the EU. These remarks accompany EIGE's <a href="https://eige.europa.eu/gender-equality-index/2022">Gender Equality Index</a>. The current edition refers to data collected in 2020, and with everything that has happened since, the results are described as warning signs of an unaltered situation for women.
